Wells Street Wrap Up Part I

Collectors Corner, Events, Shows & Ar...Anne LeuckComment

Picture 16Happy new collectors at the Wells Street Art Fair: The Mickelson's with one of my newest paintings "Outbound to O'Hare"...

Picture 33My booth was very blue and green this time around especially with my new work. All my 'pink' paintings are hanging at the Poison Cup through the end of June.

Picture 17It's always interesting to see that many people who are attracted to my work wear the colors of my palette...

Stay tuned for Part II tomorrow...'the Greyhounds'.

Yellow Dog + Swirly Sky Finds a new home...

Picture 10 A bit behind on my blog posts these days, well a bit behind on everything, I guess. Adjusting to new realities which I will address next week. This is a happy new collector with her friend, from the Broadripple Art Fair in Indianapolis last month. I tried out a new booth configuration there...really only moving a wall a few feet, but it completely changes the space that I occupy in the booth, the key here being that I am visibly 'in' the booth not sitting behind the wall.Picture 15I like it and am looking forward to trying it again at this weekend's Wells Street Art Festival here in Chicago, from 10am-dusk Saturday & Sunday:

Picture 1This is Ginger, she was our guest of honor on Saturday for the Young At Heart Pet Rescue Adoption Event...

Photo As you can see, she is a very sweet, laid back 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier Mix, just right for a family with older kids or senior citizens'. Her owner got sick and was no longer able to care for her, this is the plight of many dogs and cats that the Young At Heart Pet Rescue volunteers take into their homes to foster until new permanent homes can be found. Please visit www.yahpetrescue.com if you would like more information about Ginger or to see more dogs and cats available for adoption from YAH.

Jay's wonderful German Shepherd who is among the very first Pet Portraits in my Portfolio. I did his painting way back in 2000, it's called "Flipper's Full Moon".

Picture 12Kim Frieders and Kelly Velasco...with Kelly's newest addition to her collection: Good N Plenty Pups! They came by for our adoption event after a day of shopping at the DIY Show... I would have loved a chance to get over there and see all the handmade goods. I love visiting with these gals, they always brighten my day. Kim has a new art studio in Dundee...hope to get out there after the holidays for a visit.

My art fair pal Jill Miller of Hooey Batiks tagged me (facebook) in this great photo of her dogs, Emma in the foreground and Fausto...I was confused and then noticed a painting I did MANY years ago up on the shelf behind them. She said it's titled "red trees and pink sky" dated 2000. It's pink on pink on with red...haven't done that in a awhile..I'm inspired! Check out Jill's beautiful batik work on Etsy, here's a sample:Picture 40
